Driver Assessor/CPC Trainer

Working as part of the Compliance Team this appointment will report directly to the Compliance Manager and assist in the delivery of all training duties, the role will be predominately based at our Halifax Head Office, although work at our other Depots and regular Driver assessments will be required.  This permanent and full time role is integral to the future success of the department.

Typical Duties

  • We have a training regime and recording process for all our employees, including an in house/external training centre for all types of training provided by the company.  The successful candidate will be required to actively participate in the development of the training facility.
  • Flexibility in the working week is required as Driver assessments may facilitate early starts/late finishes, the undertaking of Driver CPC training is/can be undertaken on weekends (usually Saturdays).
  • The role includes undertaking/assisting with:
    • Undertaking Driver CPC training sessions.
    • Undertaking Driver Assessments (previous experience preferred).
    • Maintaining documentary evidence of internal/external training undertaken.
  • Ideally, the candidate will have previous experience within the logistics, road haulage or heavy lifting industry (preferred but not essential).

Qualifications/Experience

  • Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) or Recognised Teaching Qualification (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience of delivering training programs/developing training courses.
  • A high level of competence and awareness of documentation, recording and reporting.
  • Knowledge of IT windows based systems i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Full UK Driving Licence holder (Cat B minimum, C+E would be advantageous).

Preferred, but not essential

  • Undertaken LGV Driver Assessments.
  • Formal teaching qualification, PTTLS/AET.
  • Approved Forklift trainer.
  • Having previously undertaken Driver CPC training (JAUPT approved preferably).
  • Previous experience of undertaking vocational assessments (ideally holding formal assessment qualification).
  • ITTSAR Registered Trainer.
  • FORS Approved Safe Urban Driving Trainer.
  • Approved Manual Handling Trainer.

Location

The role is based at our Halifax Head Office, although the training requirements of our operatives based at our depots at Halifax, Goole and our Scottish Grangemouth Depot will come under the remit of the candidate.  A valid Driving Licence is essential as UK travel may be expected on occasion to attend our other Depots, attending site meetings and service client requirements as required.

Conditions

Anticipated normal working hours are Monday to Friday 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs.  Overtime and weekend working is required by the demands of the business.  28 days holiday per year including Bank Holidays.  Contributions to the Company pension scheme is offered subject to conditions.  Overnight subsistence costs are paid when away from base.
