Trainee Transport Consultant, Halifax

We're recruiting for a Trainee Transport Consultant to join our Halifax Depot.  Working as part of the Renewables Team, this appointment will report directly to the Renewables Projects Manager. The role will require site meetings and attendance on a UK and sometimes EU basis.

The role includes:

  • Create and provide route assessment reports and audits.
  • Carry out SPA (Swept Path Analysis) via our CAD software.
  • Assist Project Managers in the management and delivery of wind turbine components for Renewables projects from initial conception to completion. This can include shipping, port handling & lifting, transport & logistics operations.
  • Have direct contact and communicate with clients, drivers, local authorities and site contractors.
  • Assessing, reviewing and designing loading and transport methods using CAD.
  • Site visits and route planning for delivery of wind turbine components.
  • Carry out land-based surveying using calibrated instruments and surveying equipment.

Qualifications & Professional Requirement

  • Qualified to A Level standard.
  • Knowledge of transport and/or engineering/surveying standards and best practices.
  • Experience with CDM regulations would be an advantage but not essential.
  • A good level of 2D AutoCAD experience. 3D AutoCAD would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Previous experience in project management. Qualification in PRINCE2 would be an advantage but not essential.

Management & Personal Qualities

  • Experience of working in a pro-active manner, self-motivated and well organised.
  • An effective team player who is articulate, numeric and confident.
  • Must have excellent communication skills with client/colleagues/contractors

Location. The role is based at our Renewables Department in Halifax, however, a valid driving license and passport is essential as UK and some European travel will be expected to attend site meetings and service client requirements as required.
